Bitcoin Error Database Corrupted on Mac OSX

02:02
I never had a problem opening and using my bitcoin app until after my mac froze one day. From that point on bit coin would try to load, but I would get an error window that said database corrupted. I found a fix for it by repairing the permissions on my mac. go to applications - utilities - disk utility- then click on verify permissions, then repair permissions. shutdown when thats done. restart mac and open bit coin.

How To Backup and Restore Your DogeCoin Wallet Safely and Securely (Or any QT Client)

04:40
BACKING UP STEPS: Step 1: Open your QT Client and wait for it to fully synchronize. Encrypt the wallet by clicking 'settings' then 'encrypt wallet'. DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSWORD! Step 2: Click 'File' in the top left hand corner and click 'backup' Step 3: Select your backup destination. Step 4: Make as many backups as you see nessecary. I recommend two physical backups (USB drive or external HDD) and one online backup by putting the .dat file into a secure password protected folder via 7zip. (DO NOT EVER UPLOAD THE RAW .DAT FILE!). Upload to dropbox, email it to yourself or place in any secure trusted cloud storage. RESTORING STEPS: Step 1: Redownload and install your QT Client. Do not open it yet. Step 2: Copy your backed up wallet.dat file onto your desktop Step 3: Navigate to the location where you installed the blockchain. Default location is My Computer/(C:)/Users/Appdata/Roaming/Dogecoin Step 4: Delete the wallet.dat file in the 'dogecoin' folder. Step 5: Drag and drop the backed up file into the 'dogecoin' folder Step 6: Exit and open your QT Client. Step 7: Wait for the blockchain to resync and you're done! Protip: If you encounter error with your wallet, running it from the command line (Windows CMD, Linux/mac Terminal) with the arguement '-salvagewallet' will allow you to bring a wallet "back." Thanks /u/Techis1332!

Blockchain tutorial 14: Checksum

01:48
This is part 14 of the Blockchain tutorial explaining what checksum is. In this video series different topics will be explained which will help you to understand blockchain. Bitcoin released as open source software in 2009 is a cryptocurrency invented by Satoshi Nakamoto (unidentified person or group of persons). After the introduction of Bitcoin many Bitcoin alternatives were created. These alternate cryptocurrencies are called Altcoins (Litecoin, Dodgecoin etc). Bitcoin's underlying technology is called Blockchain. The Blockchain is a distributed decentralized incorruptible database (ledger) that records blocks of digital information. Each block contains a timestamp and a link to a previous block. Soon people realises that there many other use cases where the Blockchain technology can be applied and not just as a cryptocurrency application. New Blockchain platforms were created based on the Blockchain technology, one of which is called Ethereum. Ethereum focuses on running programming code, called smart contracts, on any decentralized application. Using the new Blockchain platforms, Blockchain technology can be used in supply chain management, healthcare, real estate, identity management, voting, internet of things, etcetera, just to name a few. Today there is a growing interest in Blockchain not only in the financial sector but also in other sectors. Explaining how Blockchain works is not easy and for many the Blockchain technology remains an elusive concept. This video series tries to explain Blockchain to a large audience but from the bottom up. Keywords often used in Blockchain conversation will be explained. Each Blockchain video is short and to the point. It is recommended to watch each video sequentially as I may refer to certain Blockchain topics explained earlier. How to install the Masterchest Windows wallet

05:59
This tutorial explains the steps necessary to install the Masterchest Windows wallet. The process requires the re-indexing of the Bitcoin-Qt database and it may take up to 24 hours. For that reason, please follow the instructions exactly and in order. Masterchest wallet has only been tested on Windows 7 and Windows 8 but it may work on any Windows versions where the .Net 4.0 framework can be installed. Set up your environment 1. Download and install the .NET Framework 4.0 from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 2. Download and install the latest version of Bitcoin-Qt reference client for Windows: https://bitcoin.org/en/download Re-index the Bitcoin-Qt database 1. Start Windows Explorer, click on "Organize", "Folder and Search Options", and select the "View" tab. There check "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". 2. Press the start button and in the "Search programs and files" field type %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin and press Enter. 3. In the folder that appears, right-click, create a text file, and name it **bitcoin.conf**. Make sure that Windows has not added the ".txt" extension to the file! 4. Right-click on the file, open it using Notepad and paste the following code: rpcport=8332 rpcconnect=localhost rpcuser=your_username rpcpassword=your_password server=1 txindex=1 Save the file and exit Notepad. 5. If you don't already have one, create a shortcut for Bitcoin-Qt on your Desktop. Right-click on the shortcut and choose "Properties". In the "Target" tab enter " -reindex" (without the quotes) after the file location. The final result should be exactly "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Bitcoin\\bitcoin-qt.exe" -reindex 6. Double-click on the Bitcoin-Qt shortcut and wait until the reindexing is finished. *This may take a lot of time*. 7. After the re-indexing is complete, right-click on the Bitcoin-Qt shortcut, select "Properties". In the "Target" tab **remove** the " -reindex" after the file location. The final result should be exactly "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Bitcoin\\bitcoin-qt.exe" Don't make any changes in the bitcoin.conf file. If you do, Bitcoin-Qt will try to re-index the Bitcoin-Qt database again. Download and install Masterchest 1. Go to http://ow.ly/tYKqe and download the Masterchest wallet. 2. Create a new folder and copy there the .zip file you just downloaded. Extract the contents of the zip file there. 3. Start the Bitcoin-Qt wallet and keep it running. 4. Double click on the Masterchest_Wallet.exe and proceed with the installation. 5. The program will first perform some checks. Providing these checks are passed, your wallet will start the synchronization. You may check the status of synchronization by using the debug panel. 6. After the  synchronization is complete (note that the first time this may take a number of hours depending on the speed of your hardware) the network status label  will show 'Synchronized' and you should see an overview of your Mastercoin balance displayed.

Finney downloaded the bitcoin software the day it was released, and received 10 bitcoins from Nakamoto in the world's first bitcoin transaction.[32][33] Other early supporters were Wei Dai, creator of bitcoin predecessor b-money, and Nick Szabo, creator of bitcoin predecessor bit gold.[34] In the early days, Nakamoto is estimated to have mined 1 million bitcoins.[35] In 2010, Nakamoto handed the network alert key and control of the Bitcoin Core code repository over to Gavin Andresen, who later became lead developer at the Bitcoin Foundation.[36][37] Nakamoto subsequently disappeared from any involvement in bitcoin.[38] Andresen stated he then sought to decentralize control, saying: "As soon as Satoshi stepped back and threw the project onto my shoulders, one of the first things I did was try to decentralize that. So, if I get hit by a bus, it would be clear that the project would go on."[38] This left opportunity for controversy to develop over the future development path of bitcoin.[39] The value of the first bitcoin transactions were negotiated by individuals on the bitcointalk forums with one notable transaction of 10,000 BTC used to indirectly purchase two pizzas delivered by Papa John's.[29] On 6 August 2010, a major vulnerability in the bitcoin protocol was spotted. Transactions were not properly verified before they were included in the blockchain, which let users bypass bitcoin's economic restrictions and create an indefinite number of bitcoins.[40][41] On 15 August, the vulnerability was exploited; over 184 billion bitcoins were generated in a single transaction, and sent to two addresses on the network. Within hours, the transaction was spotted and erased from the transaction log after the bug was fixed and the network forked to an updated version of the bitcoin protocol.[42][40][41] On 1 August 2017, a hard fork of bitcoin was created, known as Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Cash has a larger blocksize limit and had an identical blockchain at the time of fork.[43][44] Design The blockchain is a public ledger that records bitcoin transactions.[45] A novel solution accomplishes this without any trusted central authority: the maintenance of the blockchain is performed by a network of communicating nodes running bitcoin software.[8] Transactions of the form payer X sends Y bitcoins to payee Z are broadcast to this network using readily available software applications.[46] Network nodes can validate transactions, add them to their copy of the ledger, and then broadcast these ledger additions to other nodes. The blockchain is a distributed database – to achieve independent verification of the chain of ownership of any and every bitcoin amount, each network node stores its own copy of the blockchain.[47] Approximately six times per hour, a new group of accepted transactions, a block, is created, added to the blockchain, and quickly published to all nodes. This allows bitcoin software to determine when a particular bitcoin amount has been spent, which is necessary in order to prevent double-spending in an environment without central oversight. Whereas a conventional ledger records the transfers of actual bills or promissory notes that exist apart from it, the blockchain is the only place that bitcoins can be said to exist in the form of unspent outputs of transactions.[3]:ch. 5 Mining is a record-keeping service done through the use of computer processing power.[d] Miners keep the blockchain consistent, complete, and unalterable by repeatedly verifying and collecting newly broadcast transactions into a new group of transactions called a block.[45] Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block,[45] using the SHA-256 hashing algorithm,[3]:ch. 7 which links it to the previous block,[45] thus giving the blockchain its name.

E815: All #AskJason: surprising founders, crowdsourcing, AI, gaming, cannabis, raising capital, more

SIGN UP FOR TWIST EPISODES MAILING LIST: http://bit.ly/twistemail All #AskJason: Surprising founders, effective crowdsourcing, AI hot or hype?, video game startups, cannabis, holding v. selling, raising $, building expertise. Show Notes: 01:01 - Gary asks: Who has surprised you most as a founder? Someone who seemed like they weren’t good enough but turned out to be great. Jason recalls meeting a young Mark Zuckerberg and talks about his strengths, including a maniacal focus on removing friction. 06:00 - Toby asks: What are your thoughts on using crowdsourcing to solve real-world problems? Jason: Crowdsourcing can be used to collect money, to collect ideas/data, and to mobilize people. One great thing about crowdfunding is that it forces people to address more important problems and to refine their pitches. There will be more instances of people crowdsourcing services like neighborhood security and quality of life enhancements. 10:15 - Jason thanks sponsor Asana - https://asana.com/twist 13:24 - Sam asks: What are your current views on AI and what industries to do see it transforming the most in the next 12 to 18 months? Jason: In the near term, AI will improve customer service, tech support, etc. Will eventually reveal patterns in data about consumer products, drugs, education, more. 16:44 - Danilo asks: Why are there so few video game startups? It’s a fast-growing market but it seems funding is scarce. Jason: Investors often avoid game startups because it’s a hit-based business. It’s very difficult to determine which studio is going to make the next “Call of Duty” or “Grand Theft Auto.” Investors prefer to look at data and the quality of a team. With young game companies, there is no early traction. Success is measured after release. Investors who do bet on games generally back studios with strong catalogs. Crowdfunding is a great option for young game companies. 19:10 - Kaliko asks: Are you actively investing in cannabis startups? Jason: Only Kush Marketplace, which facilitates third-party sales. Jason expects marijuana will be at least decriminalized at the federal level. Will ultimately result in reduced opioid addiction and death. 23:36 - Jason thanks sponsor Athletic Greens. TWiST fans get 20 free travel packs with first purchase. Visit https://athleticgreens.com/twist 25:24 - Verdi asks: What’s the right balance between holding ownership and selling shares into a secondary transaction? Jason: When early employees sell shares, it burdens later employees with a higher strike price. For founders, selling too much early on often distracts from the mission. But it’s ok, after five or six years of hard work, to buy a home, establish retirement, etc. Sales should be fair, all secondary shares should be approved. ROFR is important. 29:45 - Gillian asks: What is the investment environment for a company that has launched a product but hasn’t gained traction? Perhaps having been accepted into an incubator with an angel or angels on board? Jason: The environment is lukewarm. If the product is exceptional and truly solves a problem, and if initial users represent a bit opportunity, some investors will be interested. The reputation of the incubator and angel(s) on board make a difference. 33:27 - Chrissy asks: Why raise money if bootstrapping is working? Jason says bootstrapped founders are his favorite type of people. Companies that can monetize before fundraising are in a great position when they do need funds. The problem with bootstrapping is that competitors with funding can hire more people, do better marketing, etc. 36:53 - James asks: What’s a good strategy for increasing expertise in a given field? Jason: Instructional videos, message boards, IRC, Reddit, Meetup groups, Quora, and LinkedIn Groups. Facebook Groups are ok. Don’t discount in-person discussion. It’s also useful to study outside of your own discipline - learn a new language, etc. Multidisciplinary people often have an edge in business and problem-solving.

News Updates 3/18

04:26
http://www.moneyandtech.com/mar18-news-update/ Today in Money & Tech top news stories: Blockchain.info's bitcoin wallet and block explorer service has been down since yesterday due to a "bug in some database handling code." The issue was first brought to light when users complained of "stuck" shared coin transactions, which are a method of protecting users' identity by combining transactions with other users. Blockchain is working hard to fix the problem and have been posting regular updates on their blog, most recently announcing that "the block explorer function should be back up" and that the wallet services will be restored soon as well. In the meantime, they assured wallet holders that their accounts are safe and still accessible using the private keys in their wallet backups, emphasizing "how crucial it is that users make regular backups of their wallets." Mt. Gox started allowing users to log in this morning and confirm exactly how much unobtainable money they have in their accounts, though without any additional explanation. The only information offered is a message from their legal team on the bottom of the screen that reads, "Please be aware that confirming the balance on this site does not constitute a filing of rehabilitation claims." Several users have already confirmed that what they see reported is indeed their correct balance. There is still no real information on what is going on internally at Gox, but at least it seems as though they are not giving up just yet. Tijuana, Mexico will be getting not one, but two new digital currency ATMs this week, one accepting US dollars and the other accepting Mexican pesos. These ATMs from Bitcoin42 - which will be the first ones in all of Latin America - will support not only bitcoin, but dogecoin and litecoin as well. What's more, Bitcoin42 will be giving 10% of all profits generated by their ATMs to non-profit associations in Tijuana. Meanwhile in the United Arab Emirates, photos surfaced from Dubai businessman Sergey Yusupov offer proof that he is preparing to distribute 400 bitcoin ATMs across the desert city in the next two weeks. These will be one-way ATMs, meaning they can only be used to put in cash and get bitcoins out. We will keep you up to date as we learn more about this development. And the ATM Industry Association also released a commissioned report titled "An Introduction to Bitcoin ATMs," finding that bitcoin "could have a significant impact on the global payments industry" and that "Bitcoin ATMs could become one of the most convenient distribution channels available to consumers." The People's Bank of China has placed a temporary ban on mobile payments using QR codes in an effort to at least temporarily hinder the launch of 'virtual credit cards' by major internet companies, which the bank believes could have serious financial security risks. Some digital currency advocates see this has a step backward for financial innovation and open markets, given that these virtual credit cards could be healthy competition to UnionPay, the credit card company that currently has a monopoly on bankcard services in China. The Bank of Thailand has issued a new statement on bitcoin, warning consumers that it is "not considered a currency and can't be used for payments." While this statement may sound discouraging, it could actually mean positive news for bitcoin businesses and users in Thailand, and indicate a slight improvement in the bank's position on bitcoin, since declaring the digital currency illegal last summer. Whatever their new position, hopefully this new statement is a sign that more clarity around bitcoin's legal status in Thailand is coming soon. David Cohen, Treasury Undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, spoke to Bloomberg News in New York today, stressing the need to apply federal banking laws to bitcoin because of the major anonymity and "illicit finance threats" that the digital currency poses. A new bitcoin documentary film titled "The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin" has been selected to premiere at the renowned Tribeca Film Festival. The film chronicles the impressive growth of this digital currency from its inception in 2009, and features interviews with several community leaders, including Gavin Andresen, Roger Ver and Charlie Shrem, who will also be joining the festival's post-screening talk. We have more video coverage for you from the San Francisco Bitcoin Meetup last month at 20Mission, which will be available to watch here soon. Bitcoin || What is bitcoin || How it work with his wallet work || Profit Or Loss

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and worldwidepayment system.[8]:3 It is the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central bank or single administrator.[8]:1[9] The network is peer-to-peer and transactions take place between users directly, without an intermediary.[8]:4These transactions are verified by networknodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Bitcoin was invented by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto[10]and released as open-source software in 2009.[11] Bitcoins are created as a reward for a process known as mining. They can be exchanged for other currencies,[12] products, and services. As of February 2015, over 100,000 merchants and vendors accepted bitcoin as payment.[13]Research produced by the University of Cambridge estimates that in 2017, there are 2.9 to 5.8 million unique users using a cryptocurrency wallet, most of them using bitcoin.[14] The word bitcoin first occurred and was defined in the white paper[15] that was published on 31 October 2008.[16] It is acompound of the words bit and coin.[17] The white paper frequently uses the shortercoin.[15] There is no uniform convention for bitcoincapitalization. Some sources use Bitcoin, capitalized, to refer to the technology andnetwork and bitcoin, lowercase, to refer to the unit of account.[18] The Wall Street Journal,[19]The Chronicle of Higher Education,[20] and theOxford English Dictionary[17] advocate use of lowercase bitcoin in all cases, a convention followed throughout this article. On 18 August 2008, the domain name "bitcoin.org" was registered.[27] In November that year, a link to a paper authored by Satoshi Nakamoto titled Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System[15] was posted to a cryptography mailing list.[27] Nakamoto implemented the bitcoin software as open source code and released it in January 2009.[28][11] The identity of Nakamoto remains unknown.[10] In January 2009, the bitcoin network came into existence after Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first ever block on the chain, known as thegenesis block, for a reward of 50 bitcoins One of the first supporters, adopters, and contributors to bitcoin was the receiver of the first bitcoin transaction, programmer Hal Finney. The Blockchain & Bitcoin - Computerphile

Blockchain is the underlying technology behind cryptocurrencies bringing together Merkle trees, Hashing & Distributed Architecture. Christopher Ellis explains. Note1 - At 6:46 when Chris is drawing the Merkle Tree, C would actually be duplicated and hashed with itself not with B. So you would get H(C - C) instead of H(B - C). Note2 - At minute 17, Christopher mentioned the mining reward halving at 21,000 bitcoins but meant 210,000 blocks. Steemit- Wow Can't Believe Hard Fork 19!

06:23
Steemit- Wow Can't Believe Hard Fork 19! https://steemit.com/@mykos Steemit is a social news service[2] which runs a blogging and social networking website on top of a blockchain database, known as Steem. The project was founded in 2016 by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer, creator of BitShares.[3][4] The two are founders of the Steemit Inc. company which runs the Steemit website and funds ongoing development of the platform. On March 15, 2017 Dan Larimer announced his resignation from the company.[5] The idea was described in a whitepaper released in March 2016.[6] The general concept is similar to other blogging websites or social news websites like Reddit, but the text content is saved in a blockchain. Using a blockchain enables rewarding comments and posts with secure tokens of value. Images can be uploaded and hosted on Steemit. Other multimedia content must be embedded from other web hosts. For formatting, there is a WYSIWYG editor. Users can also opt to use Markdown formatting with HTML elements. User accounts can upvote posts and comments, and the authors who get upvoted can receive a monetary reward in a cryptocurrency token named STEEM and US dollar-pegged tokens called Steem Dollars. People are also rewarded for curating popular content. Curating involves voting comments and post submissions. Vote strength and curation rewards are influenced by the amount of STEEM Power held by the voter.[4] Steemit has a reputation system, where new accounts start with a reputation of 25. An account's received votes can influence its reputation up and down, incentivizing online etiquette. Steemit runs on top of a decentralized network named Steem. Like Bitcoin, Steem is a blockchain with transferable tokens. In addition to moving tokens from one place to another, Steem is also a text content and metadata database that applications or websites can connect to. Through these apps, Steem accounts can transact and interact with the Steem database. Instead of using cryptographic hashes as addresses like many blockchains do, user-chosen alphanumeric account names are used. With human readable account names, transactions can be made directly from an identity to an identity, making them easier to understand than hashes. Steem also reaches decentralized consensus differently than Bitcoin. It uses a method called delegated proof of stake where block-creating accounts, called witnesses, are elected by Steem stakeholders. Instead of relying on proof of work to find blocks, the Steem network actively schedules these accounts to improve the time between blocks to 3 seconds. Block producers are given a small part of the rewards created in each block; the rest is paid to authors and curators. Steem has no transaction fees for rate limiting or to pay its block producers. Instead, accounts use bandwidth, which replenishes fast enough that a typical user is not affected or limited. While steemit.com is the first and reference front-end website interface for the blockchain content of Steem, the network's open and permissionless nature allows third-party websites and apps to connect and interact with the Steem database. Several have been created by third parties. These offer alternative interface designs or features such as Instagram-style image posting. Busy.org is a Steem-interacting website with an alternative user interface. eSteem is a Steem-interacting Android and iOS app. A forum-style application called chainBB is also available. Non-Steemit apps and websites use the same Steem user credentials as used on Steemit. This is possible because the user account and password are part of the network database, using public-key cryptography. Only the user who owns an account can authenticate actions such as commenting, voting, or transferring with their password or appropriate key. Each account has a set of private keys with different access privileges. The lowest security level key allows posting, commenting and voting, but not transfers of currency. Therefore with a hierarchy of keys, it is possible to use other Steem-connected apps without risking a loss of funds or account control. ] As of May 2017, there are more than 170,000 Steem accounts. After an initial public beta for which no payments were made, the hard fork on July 4th, 2016 saw $1,300,000 of STEEM and Steem Dollars paid out to Steemit users.[8] The exchange rate of STEEM compared to Bitcoin rose continuously during July 2016, peaking at a price of over 4 US dollars.[4] In most of July 2016, Steem had the third largest market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies monitored by the website Coinmarketcap.com, reaching a first notable peak at July 20th, with about 405 million US dollars.[9] As of May 25th, 2016 its market cap is 258 million United States dollars.

But since then, it has evolved into something greater, and the main question every single person is asking is: What is Blockchain? By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied, blockchain technology created the backbone of a new type of internet. Originally devised for the digital currency, Bitcoin, the tech community is now finding other potential uses for the technology. Bitcoin has been called “digital gold,” and for a good reason. To date, the total value of the currency is close to $9 billion US. And blockchains can make other types of digital value. Like the internet (or your car), you don’t need to know how the blockchain works to use it. However, having a basic knowledge of this new technology shows why it’s considered revolutionary. So, we hope you enjoy this, what is Blockchain guide. Picture a spreadsheet that is duplicated thousands of times across a network of computers. Then imagine that this network is designed to regularly update this spreadsheet and you have a basic understanding of the blockchain. Information held on a blockchain exists as a shared — and continually reconciled — database. This is a way of using the network that has obvious benefits. The blockchain database isn’t stored in any single location, meaning the records it keeps are truly public and easily verifiable. No centralized version of this information exists for a hacker to corrupt. Hosted by millions of computers simultaneously, its data is accessible to anyone on the internet. To go in deeper with the Google spreadsheet analogy, I would like you to read this piece from a blockchain specialist. “The traditional way of sharing documents with collaboration is to send a Microsoft Word document to another recipient, and ask them to make revisions to it. The problem with that scenario is that you need to wait until receiving a return copy before you can see or make other changes because you are locked out of editing it until the other person is done with it. That’s how databases work today. Two owners can’t be messing with the same record at once. That’s how banks maintain money balances and transfers; they briefly lock access (or decrease the balance) while they make a transfer, then update the other side, then re-open access (or update again). With Google Docs (or Google Sheets), both parties have access to the same document at the same time, and the single version of that document is always visible to both of them. It is like a shared ledger, but it is a shared document. The distributed part comes into play when sharing involves a number of people. Imagine the number of legal documents that should be used that way. Instead of passing them to each other, losing track of versions, and not being in sync with the other version, why can’t *all* business documents become shared instead of transferred back and forth? So many types of legal contracts would be ideal for that kind of workflow. You don’t need a blockchain to share documents, but the shared documents analogy is a powerful one.” -William Mougayar, Venture advisor, 4x entrepreneur, marketer, strategist and blockchain specialist Blockchain technology is like the internet in that it has a built-in robustness. By storing blocks of information that are identical across its network, the blockchain cannot: Be controlled by any single entity. Has no single point of failure. Bitcoin was invented in 2008. Since that time, the Bitcoin blockchain has operated without significant disruption. (To date, any of problems associated with Bitcoin have been due to hacking or mismanagement. In other words, these problems come from bad intention and human error, not flaws in the underlying concepts.) The internet itself has proven to be durable for almost 30 years. It’s a track record that bodes well for blockchain technology as it continues to be developed.

From Bitcoin To Hashgraph (Documentary) Hidden Secrets Of Money Episode 8

01:14:26
Bonus Features: http://www.hiddensecretsofmoney.com Today, mankind stands at a crossroads, and the path that humanity chooses may have a greater impact on our freedom and prosperity than any event in history. In 2008 a new technology was introduced that is so important that its destiny, and the destiny of mankind are inextricably linked. It is so powerful that if captured and controlled, it could enslave all of humanity. But if allowed to remain free and flourish - it could foster unimaginable levels of peace and prosperity. It has the power to replace all financial systems globally, to supplant ninety percent of Wall St, and to provide some functions of government. It has no agenda. It's always fair and impartial. It can not be manipulated, subverted, corrupted or cheated. And - it inverts the power structure and places control of one's destiny in the hands of the individual. In the future, when we look back at the 2.6 million-year timeline of human development and the major turning points that led to modern civilization - the creation of farming, the domestication of animals, the invention of the wheel, the harnessing of electricity and the splitting of the atom - the sixty year development of computers, the internet and this new technology will be looked upon as a single event...a turning point that will change the course of human history. It's called Full Consensus Distibuted Ledger Technology, and so far its major use has been for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin....but its potential goes far, far beyond that. The Crypto Revolution: From Bitcoin to Hashgraph is our latest episode of Hidden Secrets of Money. It’s about the evolution of cryptocurrencies and full consensus distributed ledger technology, and how they will change our world. I believe that this video is by far the easiest way for the average person to gain an understanding of what cryptocurrencies are and how they work, but more importantly, the immense power of full consensus distributed ledger technology and the impact it will have on our daily lives. I have an absolute passion for monetary history and economics, and I love teaching them. Cryptocurrencies are our future, and there is no escaping it… this is the way everything will be done from now on. But, we now stand at a crucial turning point in history. Full consensus ledgers such as Blockchain and Hashgraph have the power to enslave us, or free us… it all depends on how we choose to use them. If we choose to support centralized versions issued by governments and the financial sector we will be granting them more control over our daily lives. Politicians and bureaucrats will be able raise taxes instantly, whenever they want, on every dollar you make as you make them, and every dollar you spend as you spend them. If they think the economy needs stimulating they'll be able to enforce huge negative interest rates, effectively punishing you for not spending everything you earn before you earn it. They'll be able to decide where you can go and where you can’t, what you can buy and what you can’t, and what you can do and whatever they decide you can’t do… and if they don't like you, they can just disconnect you from the monetary system. So, will the monetary system become fully distributed and help to free mankind, or will it be centralized and enslave us? The choice is in front of us right now, and our decisions will create our future. I believe that this will be a binary outcome, there is no middle ground, it will either be one future or the other. The question is, will it be the future we want? Or the future they want? I’m a precious metals dealer and one thing I’ve learned is that gold, silver, and now free market decentralized cryptocurrencies, represent freedom. Because of this knowledge I started investing in crypto currencies long ago and also became one of the first precious metals dealers to accept bitcoin as payment for gold and silver. I would really appreciate it if you could share this video with everyone you know. I think it’s very important that as many people as possible find out about the changes to the global monetary system that are happening right now… nothing will affect us more, and everyone’s future depends on it. Thanks, Mike If you enjoyed watching this video, be sure to pick up a free copy of Mike's bestselling book, Guide to Investing in Gold & Silver: https://goldsilver.com/buy-online/investing-in-gold-and-silver/ (Want to contribute closed captions in your language for our videos? Can Monero (XMR) Reach $1000 in 2018 ?

06:48
Can Monero Reach $1000 in 2018 ? What is Monero? Why Monero has a bright future? What makes it different? Monero is a secure, private, and untraceable cryptocurrency. It is open-source and accessible to all. With Monero, you are your own bank. Only you control and are responsible for your funds. Your accounts and transactions are kept private from prying eyes. Monero was launched in April 2014. It was a fair, pre-announced launch of the CryptoNote reference code. There was no premine or instantmine, and no portion of the block reward goes to development. See the original Bitcointalk thread here. The founder, thankful_for_today, proposed some controversial changes that the community disagreed with. A fallout ensued, and the Monero Core Team forked the project with the community following this new Core Team. This Core Team has provided oversight since. Monero has made several large improvements since launch. The blockchain was migrated to a different database structure to provide greater efficiency and flexibility, minimum ring signature sizes were set so that all transactions were private by mandate, and RingCT was implemented to hide the transaction amounts. Nearly all improvements have provided improvements to security or privacy, or they have facilitated use. Monero continues to develop with goals of privacy and security first, ease of use and efficiency second. Why Monero is different? Well Monero is secure Monero is a decentralized cryptocurrency, meaning it is secure digital cash operated by a network of users. Transactions are confirmed by distributed consensus and then immutably recorded on the blockchain. Third-parties do not need to be trusted to keep your Monero safe. Monero is private Monero uses ring signatures, ring confidential transactions, and stealth addresses to obfuscate the origins, amounts, and destinations of all transactions. Monero provides all the benefits of a decentralized cryptocurrency, without any of the typical privacy concessions. Monero is untraceable Sending and receiving addresses as well as transacted amounts are obfuscated by default. Transactions on the Monero blockchain cannot be linked to a particular user or real-world identity. Monero is fungible Monero is fungible because it is private by default. Units of Monero cannot be blacklisted by vendors or exchanges due to their association in previous transactions. But Monero is more than just a technology. It’s also what the technology stands for. Monero holds very high three values : Security : Users must be able to trust Monero with their transactions, without risk of error or attack. Monero gives the full block reward to the miners, who are the most critical members of the network who provide this security. Transactions are cryptographically secure using the latest and most resilient encryption tools available. Privacy: . A user needs to confidently trust Monero in a way that this person does not feel pressured into changing their spending habits for risk of others finding out. And last but not least decentralization: Monero is committed to providing the maximum amount of decentralization. With Monero, you do not have to trust anyone else on the network, and it is not run by any large group. An accessible “Proof of Work” algorithm makes it easy to mine Monero on normal computers, which makes it more difficult for someone to purchase a large amount of mining power.
