What is an ETF? | Definition of ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) | Introduction to ETFs

06:08
What is an ETF? Well, it’s a mutual fund too. It’s a pooled investment vehicle that offers diversified exposure to a particular area of the market. It can invest in stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, options or a blend of assets. Investors buy shares, which represent a proportional interest in the pooled assets. It’s a mutual fund in every aspect … except one. And that’s a big one, which is hinted at in its very name: exchange-traded funds. Should you invest in index funds - Brief

11:50
Warren Buffett famously advised his wife to just put her money into an index fund tracking the S&P 500 after his death. Index funds and Index ETFs simply follow an index rather than relying on a fund manager to pick stocks. However in India, investing in any of the 10 largest actively managed equity funds would have given you 1.5 times the return of the Nifty over the last five or even ten years. Many active funds have done even better. But how long can this sustain?

Top 5 India ETFs as of August 2017

06:01
https://goo.gl/QPCkqk - Start earning with binary options like millions of traders do India exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are comprised of securities traded in India. This is an emerging market play, meaning it carries higher risk than more mature markets. (See also: The Risks Of Investing In Emerging Markets.) India’s economy is growing, but is not entirely stable and could be subject to volatility. The higher risk can mean higher returns, as each of the ETFs on our list shows. We have selected India ETFs that have the highest year-to-date returns of all India ETFs. An India ETF is not a buy-and-hold investment. You must consistently monitor not only each ETF’s performance, but also the condition of the economy in India. (See also: Citizens Scramble for Cash After India’s Currency Ban.) Here are the top five India ETFs by year-to-date returns as of August 10, 2017. 1. Direxion Daily MSCI India Bull 3x ETF (INDL) INDL uses the MSCI India Index as its benchmark. While it aims to invest 80% of its assets in securities from the index, the other 20% may be invested in leveraged financial instruments. The goal is to achieve a 300% return. That is, the fund tries to grow at three times the rate of the index. This adds a great deal of risk because losses can be accelerated the same way gains can when holdings are leveraged. The focus on large-cap and mid-cap stocks helps offset some of the risk. Avg. Volume: 43,214 PE Ratio (TTM): N/A Yield: 0.00 YTD Return: 103.27% Expense Ratio (net): 0.95% 2. Columbia India Infrastructure ETF (INXX) This ETF follows the Indxx India Infrastructure Index as its benchmark. At least 80% of assets go into companies that are listed on the index. The focus is on companies involved in infrastructure, so this would be an investment for those who think India is likely to grow its infrastructure to meet the needs of the world’s second-largest population (behind China). This focus gives investors the opportunity to invest in a narrow slice of the Indian economy. Avg. Volume: 31,233 PE Ratio (TTM): N/A Yield: 2.21% YTD Return: 35.42% Expense Ratio (net): 0.98% 3. VanEck Vectors India Small-Cap ETF (SCIF) For investors who like both small-cap stocks and Indian stocks, SCIF is an opportunity to invest in this specialized basket of stocks: the MVIS India Small-Cap Index. The fund may use depositary receipts in addition to investing directly in securities from the index. Note that micro-cap companies are included in the index, so this investment can carry higher risk. Avg. Volume: 88,507 PE Ratio (TTM): N/A Yield: 0.95% YTD Return: 46.33% Expense Ratio (net): 0.78% 4. Columbia India Small Cap ETF (SCIN) This is another small-cap India ETF benchmarked to the MVIS India Small-Cap Index. The stocks in the index are weighted by capitalization, so the ETF may weight the stocks similarly. The fund aims to keep 80% of its assets in securities from the index, but may have as much as 95% of assets invested in the index at any given time. Avg. Volume: 14,071 PE Ratio (TTM): N/A

5 Best Index Funds To Invest In 2018

12:47
As the name suggests, index funds invest in an index. This means index funds buy all the stocks in a particular index in the same proportion as its respective index, thereby performing in coherence with the particular index. Index funds are also known as passive funds. Index Future Trading - 7 Hidden SECRETS (Hindi)

19:47
Index Future Trading secrets are not discussed in public domain. I receive multiple queries whether it is possible to execute an intraday trade in index i.e. Nifty 50. The trading in derivatives segment is risky due to the size of the trade. For example, one lot of Nifty 50 is of 75. Even though the margin requirement is less but retail investors fail to judge the risk. Therefore, is it feasible to trade in Nifty 50 or index with lower or less capital. Hedging in cash segment is another commonly asked query. In this video, i will share 7 secrets of index trading. All these secrets are linked to ETF or exchange traded funds, directly or indirectly. 1. It is possible to do intraday trading in Nifty 50 or index in cash segment through ETF. You can also trade with very low volume or value. 2. You can hedge your position through the index. Arbitrage and cover option strategies are also possible through ETF. 3. You can trade in index futures in cash segment. 4. You can rollover your position without cost. 5. If you but ETF then you can take advantage of tax benefits. The gain from ETF, if held for more than 1 year is long term capital gain. 6. Dividends are reinvested in the ETF. 7. If discount in ETF is more than discount in futures then it is a great trading opportunity. If you liked this video, You can "Subscribe" to my YouTube Channel. Death by Leveraged ETFs - Warning About Exchange Traded Funds!

05:43
Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are just like stocks, but there is a major problem with them. Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeterLeedsPennyStock Do not buy or sell any ETF until you watch this warning. Subscribe to our channel, to learn more about investing, penny stocks, and profits from high-quality, low-priced shares: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeterLeedsPennyStock ETFs are a lot like a mutual fund, in that they hold a group of investments (stocks + bonds). The beauty is that they trade just like stocks, and have lower commissions, and you can trade any time. Each ETF is designed to mimic a specific investment or group of investments. So, for example, GLD attempts to copy the movements of gold prices. If you think gold will go higher, you can buy GLD. If you believe the economy of Africa will grow, you could buy AFK, if you want more exposure to Germany, you could purchase EWG, and so on. Warning number 1, and this isn't what I need to tell you about in this video, sometimes trading can be thin, so use limit orders rather than market orders if you are going to trade them, especially true in the very early or very last trading minutes each day. Anyway, here is the problem with ETFs which can cost you a huge amount of money. ETFs are actively managed, being continually rebalanced so that their holdings reflect the intention of the ETF. For example, INDA is meant to mirror the action of a wide range of companies in India. It involves 85% of the Indian stock market, and needs to be adjusted on a daily basis to make sure it is staying true to its purpose. With these adjustments comes a small management fee. Typically this expense will be very small, usually a fraction of a percent, and is typically less than a common mutual fund. - straight-up ETFs are pretty good, but leveraged ETFs will destroy your investment. - if tracking oil prices, USO will move very similarly to oil. If oil goes up 10%, the ETF may only rise 9.8%. This slight loss is barely noticeable, and it is called slippage. Not a huge deal, but this happens every day. When you get into leveraged ETFs, this becomes a major problem. For example, UWTI is designed to provide 3 times the return of WTI oil. If WTI goes up 1%, UWTI tries to rise 3%. Likewise, if WTI falls 1%, UWTI would fall about 3 times that much. The problem is slippage. In reality if WTI rises 2%, UWTI is designed to climb three times that much, so 6%. However, in reality it may only gain 5.95%, for example. Then, if WTI falls 2%, it is back to where it originally started, but UWTI is designed to fall 3 times that amount, or 6%. In reality, it will likely fall a tiny bit more than 6. These slight shortfalls get applied every day, so if you lose a fraction of your investment, again and again and again, you are suffering a slow bleed. You probably wouldn't even notice it on any single day, but that is why the long term charts of any leverage ETF are always in a slow, steady downtrend. ETFs, especially the leveraged ones, are great for making a very short term call, but should never be used for long term investing. For example, if you expect oil prices to spike, you could play it by buying UWTI, but do it only as a short term trade. If you hold for weeks or months, you will almost certainly lose . Protect yourself when trading ETFs. Consider avoiding buying or selling in the first few or final few minutes. And do not hold ETFs for extended lengths of time, especially the leveraged ones. . Best Multi Cap Fund? - BSE 500 Index explained हिंदी में | Index Funds Vs Mutual Funds

12:54
DISCLAIMER : WE ARE NOT RECOMMENDING/SUGGESTING YOU SHOULD INVEST IN BSE 500 INDEX RIGHT NOW AT ALL. PLS DO NOT INVEST IN BSE 500 INDEX AT THE MOMENT. THIS VIDEO IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. IN FUTURE, IT MAY BECOME A VIABLE INVESTMENT OPTION BUT NOT YET. Could BSE 500 Index Fund be the next Best Multi Cap? As everybody knows we are strong proponents of Investing in Index funds which have low fee and by virtue of that have beaten over a very high percentage of Mutual Fund schemes over 20 year periods. Until now we have educated our viewers about Nifty 50 index, which can help us invest in the economy and grow with it at a low cost over long period of time. But many people are of the opinion that Nifty does not replicate the economy perfectly, which is true. There are limitations to Nifty such as having Only top 50 companies (although they contribute majority share to the Total Market capitalisation of the All listed companies in India). BSE 500 Index is another Index which can prove to be better in replicating a larger portion of the economy since it contains 500 companies Not 50. Could this BSE 500 Index fund be a reasonable investment and help a know-nothing investor achieve average market returns (Average here = Great) going in the future? Yes we believe so, however, at the moment it does have limitations which do NOT allow it to be feasible now but hopefully in the future it will be. Currently, the BSE 500 Index fund has relatively high Expense Ratio and Low Assets under Management (around 4-4.5 Cr), which may make it hard to replicate the index exactly. This video is for educational purposes and explains the advantages and disadvantages of a BSE 500 index fund. Website : www.varunmalhotra.co.in Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/www.varunmal...
