Rajahmundry airport to have longest runway in State:
Four months down the line, the Rajahmundry airport will achieve the reputation of having the longest runway in the State, as its expanded airstrip will be of 10,540 feet against the existing one of a stretch of 5,827 feet.
The international airport at Visakhapatnam is having a runway of 10,010 feet, which is being used commonly for the civil and military operations, whereas the existing runway in Vijayawada is of the length of 7,500 feet.
. Hijras angry with TDP:
The eunuchs are angry at Telugu Desam Party MP from Chittoor Sivaprasad. They have filed a case against him in Nandyal for insulting the hijra community. As part of his protest demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh, Sivaprasad dressed like a eunuch and staged a sit-in.

The proposed Anna canteens in the state would be opened as was planned earlier and there was no deviation or second thought in continuing the Anna canteens.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is very keen to run the Anna canteens effectively following the ideologies of the then chief minister N T Rama Rao. The Minister inaugurated Anna canteen in Chittoor on Sunday which is the first one in the district.
. Officials warnings, illegal mines will be seized:
Assistant Director of the Mines and Geology department Amir Basha said that they will seize the mines that are being run illegally in the district. Amir Basha accompanied by Royalty Officer Nagaraj, visited Alur and inspected several quarries on Sunday.
During the visit, the officials first inspected SRK Constructions at Hulebedu village and another quarry at Karidiguddem village. Later, the officials also visited Holagunda mandal where gravel quarries are located. These quarries have been found operating without valid licence. The officials seized these quarries.

. Order CBI probe into 'PD account scam' ,GVL:
Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao wrote a letter to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan seeking his direction for a special audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) and a CBI inquiry into the alleged embezzlement of huge sums from the Personal Deposit Accounts (PDA) in Andhra Pradesh. He said the scandal involved ₹53,039 crore of public money and it became evident from the CAG report on the State Finances for 2016-17.
The CAG report revealed that there were 58,539 PDA and ₹53,038 crore was deposited in them and ₹51,448 crore was paid out to third parties.
