Greaterville, AZ gold mining
My recent gold mining trip to Greaterville, AZ started out great but unfortunately I got rained out after two days. I ran lot of 1/4" classified dirt before I had to get out of there and found some decent gold in the upper part of my Prospector's Choice high bankers. I have about 13 pounds of cons to run also. Here's a video I took on the first day when the sun was shining. I will be returning as soon as I can. Chris

Greaterville Road FS#229
https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/2119-greaterville-road-fr-229 This is a relatively short well maintained dirt road that travels through some very scenic Ranch land and forest. This was once a thriving mining community which relied on hydraulic mining techniques to extract gold from the hills. (Think Clint Eastwood's 1985 Pale Rider which showed this technique) Unfortunately, this only worked in the spring and monsoon summer when water was available. The best part remaining of Greaterville is the cemetery, which is near the end of the trail. Not much remains of the old ghost town itself, and what there is, is on the gated-off private property. Greaterville - Sept 2012
Beautiful day on shakedown cruise to Greaterville. Beeped for 30 minutes and dug some bullets, etc. I am dedicating this treasure hunting season to David Scott Lare "Jocko" whose noble service gives us the freedom to enjoy public lands, and to loving wives like Celia whose home front devotion keeps the soldiers fighting.

Inauguration Gold Mine - Arizona - 2016
The Inauguration mine, outside of Kingman, Arizona, was developed to follow an ore body of iron, quartz, gold, silver, and copper. There is one open adit, lower toward the wash that intercepts a shaft. The adit was likely the original cut and the shaft was built for haulage. The main workings are on one wide ore body that runs perpendicular to the wash. Several trenches are cut north of the shaft on this ore body, exposing gold, copper, and silver ores. The ore body continues through the wash and to a reclaimed shaft, which was likely 100-200 feet, based on tailings. The Inauguration could be profitably worked under casual use by a small team of miners, but would take considerable development to become a larger commercial operation.

Stanton Arizona LDMA Camp Drone Footage
A short drone flight around the Stanton Arizona area. This is our first drone video. It was filmed with the Yuneec Typhoon 4K, although the video quality has been drastically reduced in order to play on the internet. Stanton is a mining camp run by the Lost Dutchmans Mining Association (a division of the GPAA). We are staying at the Stanton camp and prospecting for gold. It's a great camp with great hosts and guests. I highly recommend joining the GPAA, LDMA and staying at Stanton Camp if you enjoy gold prospecting. There are lots of places to drywash, highbank (or recirculating sluice) and metal detect in the area. Claims from the GPAA, LDMA as well as Pick N Rocks and AMRA exist all around the area. A UTV or good 4WD vehicle is very useful for getting to most of the claims. Watch for rattlesnakes and scorpions, but most of all, keep hydrated while in the desert. I highly recommend prospecting in this area, but be warned...prospecting is addictive!!!

Double Eagle War
2032, the prophecies have caused riots and chaos. Detectives Marx and Durst are caught up in a mystery of body parts that are washing up on Gulfport’s shores. After some investigation, they discover records of missing limbs ignored by their predecessors and the forgotten people missing around the world. Their investigation leads them to a creepy stranger who is inquiring about a Double Eagle gold coin, the rarest coin on Earth. No one knows where this stranger comes from or why he is hot on the same trail as the Detectives. In the southwest of the Navajo Nation, Officer Ankti struggles with his own mystery. The land is changing and there are strange tracks leading into the abandoned mines. Elder Peta Ptaysanwee tries to help Ankti understand his spiritual heritage but he can’t see it. He is lost in his own land. But no one seems to be interested in the stranger or solving the loss limbs. All law enforcement agencies are caught up in cleaning up the city from the Camping prophecy hysteria. Chief of Police orders the two Detectives off the case, eventually suspending them. A mother of a lost son pleads with Detective Fiona Marx to find the killer and bring her justice. Two Detectives have to make a choice to go against their orders and chase the stranger across state lines, eventually to lead them into Arizona, in the Navajo Nation. Bodies are piling up across the southern United States and it compels the detectives to follow the clues into the heart of ancient Earth’s secrets that only the gods foretold. Will the stranger lead to the final answer about the murdered people through experimentation, the answers to the Double Eagle coin, the truth of Jenson’s followers, or bring them all to their doom? This work contains, violence, adult situations and language. GPAA-Nancy's Gold- July 2011
Short clip of a longer video I made in July of 2011 at the GPAA Claim Nancy's Gold in the Tahoe National Forest. Some heavy rains in 2012 buried the place I was digging with another 3 to 4 feet of overburden. I had finally made it to the bedrock surface and didn't get much of it cleaned before the river remodeled the area. The best tip here is to stay on bedrock. Even better if the bedrock has been locked up with overburden for a very long time. I used a steel pipe and Come-A-Long to get down there.

GPAA Gold and Treasure Expo Mesa, Arizona Jan.18-19, 2014
Gold Prospectors Association of America: The GPAA will hold its Gold and Treasure Expo in Mesa, Arizona Jan. 18-19 at the Mesa Convention Center. The expo will feature gold-panning contests as well as seminars led by experienced prospectors. Executive Director of Operations Dominic Ricci said the GPAA Gold and Treasure Expos were started decades ago by GPAA founder George Massie to introduce people to prospecting and show them how and where to find their own gold. "We encourage everyone to bring their family and friends because there is no better place to learn how to find your own gold and experience panning for yourself. There are plenty of fun and activities for all ages," Ricci said.
