Lets Play GW Prophecies SOLO -- Episode 106, Wintersday

15:35
Each kingdom dealt with the invasion in a different way. Ascalon stood their ground, having no place else to turn. Though their forces were depleted, they managed to rally behind the Great Northern Wall. But their defense was short lived. In a magical battle that would eventually be looked upon as the turning point for Ascalon (now referred to as the Searing), the Charr brought down fire and brimstone, destroying everything on the open plain for hundreds of miles. Their magic scorched the ground and the human cities as they swept through the Wall and moved on to Orr. The surviving humans of Ascalon have since retaken the wall and have held it against periodic attacks, but there is little left of this once-prosperous empire. Been meaning to do this for a while now. I think you can currently count the amount of GuildWars lets plays on two hands, and none of them are complete. I've tried to make this series appeal to people who are interested in Gw2 (which is going to kick so much ass its unreal). Watching this you should learn everything you need to know about the world and what happened before the sequel. Also, to make it more interesting for me personally to play (i've completed the game many times) i'm testing my limits with a tough challenge: I have to solo everything. This is going to be difficult, it might not even be possible, but i'm going to give it my all! So come along! It'll be one hell of a trip.

Guild Wars - Legendary Defender of Ascalon!

02:10
Even after 2 years of the release of Guild Wars 2, I manage to get it for the first time. Legendary Defender of Ascalon is probably the most boring thing ever in existance. It took me 31 hours and 8 minutes to get it. Whats left? Treasure Hunter and Source of Wisdom. Lucky and Unlucky. Luxon Will you get them? Most likely not. PvP titles? No thanks. What's your ingame name? Young Freya Track name: BT feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw - A Million Stars

Let's Play Guild Wars 1 - Solo Adventure - Old Ascalon - 50 - Mission 04.2 HD

09:04
Eighty-ninth video, thirteenth video from ninth session, fiftieth video of Post-Searing Ascalon. Second video of last Post-Searing Ascalon Mission Nolani Academy. The Nolani Academy Mission is the final mission of this section of the game. At the beginning of the mission, a large group of Charr are assaulting the ruined academy. You are sent by Prince Rurik to attempt circling behind the Charr so that they may more easily be defeated. After defeating the attacking force, you accompany Rurik south across the Great Northern Wall in an attempt to reach the capital city of Rin. Rin is about to fall to the Charr, when Rurik attaches the mouthpiece of Stormcaller to the horn Stormcaller. Blowing Stormcaller calls thunderstorms. Thunderstorms put out the Charr fires, and as the Charr are strongly fire-aligned, they flee in terror. King Adelbern praises Rurik, sure that control of Stormcaller is a sign of victory. Rurik, OTOH, believes that the Charr army is too large and the Ascalonians must abandon their country and seek asylum elsewhere. Adelbern banishes Rurik from Ascalon, and you, as the player, choose to accompany Rurik along with almost every named Hero NPC and thousands of refugees. The first stop on your journey to Kryta is the Yak's Bend in the Northern Shiverpeaks. Burned out Old Ascalon is the first area of the game after the "tutorial" area. The Old Ascalon area is the Pre-Searing area minus The Catacombs, Wizards Folly and parts of Green Hills County, but adding all of the area that was on the east side of the Ascalon City lake, down to Fort Ranik from there, and a large area east of Ft. Ranik; plus drastically expanding the area north of the Great Wall, especially to the west. From this point on the game's resolution is set at 1280x800. This allows each session to be recorded at full screen resolution with vertical sync on. This way the only limitation on refresh rate is the internet.. Most of the time the refresh rate stays between 55-60 fps. The videos are then compressed using AVC's h.264 codec for video and ccitt a-law for audio. For most of the videos so far (including older ones) the light level is adjusted a bit, but this sometimes really washes out brighter areas. This is one thing I'm still working on. After compression the videos are uploaded. The HD version looks really good. This is a three hour session split into fifteen-minute chunks. I'll probably upload two or four videos at a time over the next few weeks. I'll add a third at some point. This covers the Ruins of Surmia and Nolani Academy missions and the last few side-quests available in Old Ascalon. After that we move into the second chapter of the story. Thanks for watching!

Let's Play Guild Wars 1 - Solo Adventure - Northern Shiverpeaks - 16 HD

15:03
One hundred seventh video, first video from thirteenth session, sixteenth video of the Northern Shiverpeaks. This session covers the pure exploration of the "Ice Tooth Cave" area of the Northern Shiverpeaks, the charming of a Snow Wolf as a new pet for Krys Anethe, The Frost Gate Mission, two quests following the Frost Gate Mission, and the actual journey into Kryta. This video specifically is part of the Ice Tooth Cave explorable area. This is an area you would run through after crossing through the Iron Horse Mine area if you were "running" to Lions Arch rather than going through the missions. There are no quests; the only extra benefits of the area beautiful scenery and a more advanced skill trainer in the Ice Tooth Cave. This is the first stage of the Ascalonian journey to Kryta, which lies on the other side of the mountains. It *is* possible to run continuously from Ascalon City to Lion's Arch, the Krytan capital (and one of the main cities of the game) but for the story's sake we'll do the three Northern Shiverpeak missions that will carry us to Kryta. From this point in the game, questing drops off significantly. Most of the side-quests are used to get you to explore the game world, large sections of which you could skip right over. You can also get a significant portion of your skills via side-quests, rather than buying them from skill trainers. Once you get to Lion's Arch (which is the area that many players reach level 20 in) the skill capture mechanic is taught through questing, as well. The Northern Shiverpeaks bridge Ascalon and Kryta (or separate it, as you will). This is the domain of the Deldrimor Dwarves and their off-shoot, isolationist brothers the Stone Summit Dwarves. The Stone Summit are supposedly a small cult of xenophobic Dwarves who seek to displace the Deldrimor leadership and seal off the mountains from all other species. In game terms, though, the Stone Summit FAR outnumber the Deldrimor Dwarves. They're everywhere in the Northern Shiverpeaks, while you'll only encounter a couple dozen Deldrimors. In addition, they're a step up in difficulty from the Charr mobs you've been fighting, so be ready. But the biggest problem, as I mentioned (although it's FAR worse in the Southern Shiverpeaks) is that the Stone Summit are EVERYWHERE. You can't throw a stone without drawing aggro around here. I've set the game's resolution back to 1680x1050. I run without vertical sync then resize to 1152x720. We'll see how it comes out. The videos are then compressed using AVC's h.264 codec for video and ccitt u-law for audio. When I remember to click through the settings properly. I'm not currently adjusting the light levels or gamma, it seems ok. After compression the videos are uploaded. This is a huge session split into fifteen-minute chunks, there are also several recording errors and some skips. Thanks for watching!

Sam Plays Guild Wars (Part 6)

34:02
We have finally made it to Wizard's Folly where we had some quests to attend to. Also, we are finally able to try out the Elementalist Powers which is always neat. We are coming close to a close on Pre-Searing. There is only so much more we can do before we have just run out of quests. I'm guessing that by part 12 we will have finally completed all of our tasks to head out of the tutorial and into the new game. I thank you guys for sticking with me for so long. Anyways...go ahead and give a LIKE since I got my ass kicked by bandits. As always, leave a comment on what you would like to see next in this playthrough of mine.
