You Can't Lead If You Have No Team

01:14
► ► Subscribe to My Channel Here https://www.youtube.com/c/CameronMorrissey Transcript: Hi there, and thanks for joining today. One of my favorite quotes is I believe an Afghan Proverb, and it states “If you think that you’re leading, and nobody is following you, you’re only taking a walk.” Leadership is not individual. Leadership is a team sport. You want to surround yourself with people. Otherwise, you’re not leading. Don’t think of it as a pyramid. Too many of us when we think about leadership, we put ourselves up on a pedestal right at the top of the pyramid. Leadership is more about being the hub in a wheel that spins around. All of the spokes connect you to your team. Leaders don’t sit in their office, they’re out among their people. Leaders are constantly surrounding themselves with their peers, with their boss, with others. Now yes, there’s going to be times when you need to work on stuff individually, but every time that you find yourself alone know that it’s less likely that you’re actually leading your team. And that’s the main point that I want to make today. Get out among people, because if you’re not out among your team, not with peers, the odds of you leading are significantly diminished. So get to it. Thanks so much everyone, bye bye.

And JBP did it without being a bull or being aggressive. So how do we get respect without being a bully? Well, we often think that getting respect and being aggressive go hand in hand. Because unfortunately, it’s often the bully that gets the most respect in the schoolyard and even in the workplace. But Jordan Peterson is an exemplar of a different way to generate massive amount of respect. So in this video we’re going to explore 3 main things he does that force people to respect you WITHOUT being a bully. Now, we focused a lot on respect in this video but that's actually just one out of four emotions that are going to create an amazing first impression on anyone cross-culturally. LEAKED: "Being President Is Harder Than Trump Thought"

11:08
It turns out presidenting is hard. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. http://tytnetwork.com/go "Being president is harder than Donald Trump thought, according to aides and allies who say that he’s growing increasingly frustrated with the challenges of running the massive federal bureaucracy. In interviews, nearly two dozen people who’ve spent time with Trump in the three weeks since his inauguration said that his mood has careened between surprise and anger as he’s faced the predictable realities of governing, from congressional delays over his Cabinet nominations and legal fights holding up his aggressive initiatives to staff infighting and leaks. The administration’s rocky opening days have been a setback for a president who, as a billionaire businessman, sold himself to voters as being uniquely qualified to fix what ailed the nation. Yet it has become apparent, say those close to the president, most of whom requested anonymity to describe the inner workings of the White House, that the transition from overseeing a family business to running the country has been tough on him. Trump often asks simple questions about policies, proposals and personnel. And, when discussions get bogged down in details, the president has been known to quickly change the subject — to "seem in control at all times," one senior government official said — or direct questions about details to his chief strategist Steve Bannon, his son-in-law Jared Kushner or House Speaker Paul Ryan. Trump has privately expressed disbelief over the ability of judges, bureaucrats or lawmakers to delay — or even stop — him from filling positions and implementing policies.”* Read more here: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/donald-trump-challenges-governing-presidency-234879 Hosts: Cenk Uygur Cast: Cenk Uygur *** The Largest Online News Show in the World. Trump Stooge Spectacularly Undermines Investigation

06:43
Devin Nunes is supposed to be part of an independent investigation of the Trump administration but he doesn’t seem very independent. Cenk Uygur, the host of The Young Turks, tells you Nunes is a stooge for Trump. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. https://www.tytnetwork.com/go "After House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes (R-CA) on Wednesday told the press that the intelligence community had "incidentally collected" information on President Donald Trump and his staff before inauguration, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) called for a select committee to take over the investigation into Russia's attempts to influence the 2016 election. "No longer does the Congress have credibility to handle this alone, and I don't say that lightly," McCain told MSNBC's Greta Van Susteren. The Arizona senator said that he did not "understand" Nunes' decision to take his findings to Trump before sharing the new information with his Democratic counterpart on the Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). "This just shows a tremendous chasm between the two senior members of the House Intelligence Committee," McCain said after noting that the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee appear to have a better working relationship." Exposure to Early Psychosocial Deprivation Can Undermine Healthy Brain Development

52:10
Healthy brain development depends on experiences that occur during relatively narrow windows of time. Dr. Charles Nelson describes a 15-year longitudinal study of children abandoned at birth and raised in orphanages, deprived of many of these critical experiences. This work has relevance for the eight million worldwide raised in institutional settings and the thousands of U.S. children who experience neglect. Charles A. Rigorous debate, honest discussion, open exchange of ideas—that’s the American way. But free thinking and speech are threatened today by a group with a sweet-sounding name that conceals a nefarious purpose. This group is called the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC. Originally founded as a civil-rights law firm in 1971, the SPLC reinvented itself in the mid-‘80s as a political attack group. Every year now it produces a new list of people and charities it claims are “extremists” and “haters.” Aided by glowing coverage from the establishment media, the SPLC’s hate list has become a weapon for taking individuals and groups they disagree with and tarring them with ugly associations. The SPLC employs a two-pronged strategy: First, find a handful of crazies with barely any followers, no address, and no staff, and blow them up into a dangerous movement— proof that there are neo-Nazis lurking everywhere. On their notorious “Hate Map,” the SPLC lists 917 separate hate groups in the U.S.! No one has even heard of more than a handful of them. The second strategy of the SPLC is to undermine legitimate political voices that they oppose by associating them with extremists like the KKK. Take the charity known as the Alliance Defending Freedom. The SPLC lists them as a “hate group.” Is that fair? Well, the ADF has a network of 3,000 attorneys from all across the U.S. who’ve donated more than a million volunteer hours in defense of religious liberty. They’ve had a role in 49 victories at the U.S. Supreme Court. Putting the Alliance Defending Freedom on a list with 130 Ku Klux Klan chapters is not only wrong, it’s malicious. According to the SPLC, one of the most influential social scientists in the U.S.— Charles Murray—is a, quote, “white nationalist.” Ayaan Hirsi Ali, perhaps the most eloquent spokesperson for the rights of Muslim women, is, to the SPLC, a “toxic... anti-Muslim extremist.” Scores of other individuals and charities active in mainstream conservative or religious causes have likewise been branded by the Southern Poverty Law Center as threats to society. Mind you, it is entirely fair to disagree with any of those folks. But it is utterly unfair to call them haters or extremists. The largest category listed by the SPLC as extremists—with 623 entries—covers groups like the Tea Party organizations that are wary of centralized government. Last time we checked, favoring smaller government was a mainstream and perfectly honorable American tradition. What is not honorable is the course prescribed by a leader of the SPLC, Mark Potok, who was caught on video proclaiming the organization’s true intentions. He told a group of supporters, quote, “the press will describe us as ‘monitoring hate groups’…. I want to say plainly that our aim in life is to destroy these groups, to completely destroy them.” Portraying someone with political views different from your own as a public menace is bullying. And it’s a dangerous game. Instead of reducing hate and violence, the SPLC’s name-calling directly incites it. For the complete script, visit https://www.prageru.com/videos/anti-hate-group-hate-group

LEAK: Ballistic Trump About To Fire Whole Staff

Are we about to see a White House purge? Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Jimmy Dore, and Brett Erlich, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. http://www.tytnetwork.com/join Read more here: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/03/trump-is-going-for-a-clean-reset “Even before he decided to launch a trade war and roll the nuclear dice by agreeing in the course of a West Wing afternoon to a risky sit-down with Kim Jong Un, Donald Trump was telling friends he was tired of being reined in. “I’m doing great, but I’m getting all these bad headlines,” Trump told a friend recently. A Republican in frequent contact with the White House told me Trump is “frustrated by all these people telling him what to do.” With the departures of Hope Hicks and Gary Cohn, the Trump presidency is entering a new phase—one in which Trump is feeling liberated to act on his impulses. “Trump is in command. He’s been in the job more than a year now. He knows how the levers of power work. He doesn’t give a fuck,” the Republican said. Trump’s decision to circumvent the policy process and impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum reflects his emboldened desire to follow his impulses and defy his advisers. “It was like a fuck-you to Kelly,” a Trump friend said. “Trump is red-hot about Kelly trying to control him.””* Hosts: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Jimmy Dore, Brett Erlich Cast: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Jimmy Dore, Brett Erlich *** The Largest Online News Show in the World. Former CIA Director Is Through With Trump Transition Team

08:35
Former CIA Director James Woolsey has resigned from Donald Trump’s transition team. Why did this happen? Ana Kasparian, Brett Erlich, and Aida Rodriguez, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. http://tytnetwork.com/go "Former CIA director R. James Woolsey Jr., a veteran of four presidential administrations and one of the nation’s leading intelligence experts, resigned Thursday from President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team because of growing tensions over Trump’s vision for intelligence agencies. Woolsey’s resignation as a Trump senior adviser comes amid frustrations over the incoming administration’s national security plans and Trump’s public comments undermining the intelligence community. “Effective immediately, Ambassador Woolsey is no longer a Senior Advisor to President-Elect Trump or the Transition. He wishes the President-Elect and his Administration great success in their time in office,” Jonathan Franks, a spokesman for Woolsey, said in a statement. Woolsey suggested in a pair of cable television interviews Thursday evening that he was only an informal adviser to Trump, with duties that included speaking to the journalists about Trump and his national security policies. Woolsey said on CNN that he did not want to “fly under false colors” any longer. “I’ve been an adviser and felt that I was making a contribution….. But I’m not really functioning as an adviser anymore. When I’m on the [television] screen, everybody announces that I’m a former CIA director and that I’m a Trump adviser and I’m really not anymore.””* Read more here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2017/01/05/former-cia-director-james-woolsey-quits-trump-transition-team/?utm_term=.0c868344d378 Hosts: Ana Kasparian, Brett Erlich, Aida Rodriguez Cast: Ana Kasparian, Brett Erlich, Aida Rodriguez *** The Largest Online News Show in the World. Oops: Devin Nunes Backpedals Spying Claims

07:59
Devin Nunes is reversing his position that the Obama administration may have spied on the Trump transition team. CORRECTION: TYT's comments on Congressman Devin Nunes pronunciation of his name were incorrect. Devin Gerald Nunes is using the Portuguese pronunciation. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Jimmy Dore, and Michael Shure, the hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. https://www.tytnetwork.com/go "The office of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) now concedes that the House Intelligence Committee chair is not sure that the intelligence community ever incidentally collected communications from President Donald Trump or members of his transition team. "He said he'll have to get all the documents he requested from the [intelligence community] about this before he knows for sure," a Nunes spokesperson told ABC News on Thursday. This lack of certainty did not stop Nunes from holding two press conferences Wednesday and briefing the White House on the “dozens” of intelligence community reports he said showed U.S. intelligence agencies “incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition," independent of the FBI's investigation into ties between Trump associates and Russian officials. In those briefings, Nunes told reporters that Trump’s own communications were caught up in the reports, as were those of individuals who “currently work at the White House for Mr. Trump.” Read more here: https://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/nunes-now-unsure-trump-associates-incidental-collection Hosts: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Jimmy Dore, Michael Shure Cast: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Jimmy Dore, Michael Shure *** The Largest Online News Show in the World. Killing the messengers: Afghan media under fire - The Listening Post (Full)

25:01
On January 20, journalism in Afghanistan was dealt a killer blow. Seven employees of the country's first ever 24-hour news network, Tolo TV, were killed when the Taliban targeted their bus in a suicide bombing. Last year, the armed group issued a statement in which it declared Tolo TV and Afghan network 1TV 'military targets'. The threat came in response to the channels' coverage of Taliban's invasion of Kunduz last September. The stations alleged that fighters had been involved in gang rapes - claims the Taliban denied and cited an "example of propaganda by these satanic networks". The attack on Tolo TV leaves Afghan journalists between a rock and a hard place with the threat posed by the Taliban exacerbated by pressure from government officials to report on Afghanistan in a way that suits their version of the political and social story - that progress is being made. Until last week's attack on the media, government officials and those with links to them had been responsible for more threats against Afghan journalists - over stories about corruption, land grabs, violence against women and human rights abuses - than the Taliban were. The phenomenal growth of Afghanistan's media sector has been considered one of the great success stories of the post-2001 reconstruction. But with journalists under fire and pressure from different sides, what does this mean for the future of journalism in the country? Talking us through this story are Lotfullah Najafizada, the head of Tolonews TV; Abdul Mujeeb Khalvatgar, the executive director at Nai; Waslat Hasrat-Nazimi, Afghanistan correspondent at DW; and Frahnaz Frotan, a journalist at Ariana TV. Other stories on our radar this week: Multiple Japanese TV hosts lose their jobs after challenging the official government line; in Morocco, investigative journalists are on trial charged with "threatening national security" and "undermining national territorial integrity"; and The Guardian newspaper announces a 20 percent budget cut. Davos: Global news event or PR exercise? Every year, over 500 journalists congregate in Davos in the Swiss Alps to report on an invitation-only meeting of the global elite, The World Economic Forum. Coverage of the exclusive annual alpine assembly offers business leaders and political figures a great media platform to spin their profit numbers and market their countries. Yet the forum has an optics problem. Advertised as a conference "to improve the state of the world", it would be the ultimate place for journalists to challenge the rich on issues as inequalities and yawning wealth gaps. But with financial news outlets deeply embedded in capitalism's status quo, social and economic inequalities are everything but high on the news agenda. The Listening Post's Meenakshi Ravi reports on the annual spectacle that is Davos, the media embedded at the event, and how the forum is reported. And we finish the show in Davos with a selection of quotes compiled by the comms team there. Mantras, slogans intended to inspire – but that sometimes work better seen through an ironic lens. Because if you want to grow your 'brand', you don't really need a new idea. An old one will do, as long as you recycle it, repackage it with some new buzzwords. - Subscribe to our channel: http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe - Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AJEnglish - Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera - Check our website: http://www.aljazeera.com/

HyperNormalisation (2016 + subs) by Adam Curtis - A different experience of reality FULL DOCUMENTARY

02:46:32
Added subtitles (french, braziianl, hebrew, english, croatian, spanish, turkish and russian) The cult documentary maker explores the falsity of modern life in his own inimitable style. Though he’s spent the best part of four decades making television, Curtis’s signature blend of hypnotic archive footage, authoritative voiceover and a seemingly inexhaustible appetite for bizarre historical tangents is better suited to the web, a place just as resistant to the narrative handholding of broadcast TV as he is. He argues that an army of technocrats, complacent radicals and Faustian internet entrepreneurs have conspired to create an unreal world; one whose familiar and often comforting details blind us to its total inauthenticity.

👨‍🏫WHY(☢"THE "NIST" "REPORT"☣) IS"2018" 💡FAKE/🔎FRAUDULENT🔬/DATA/💻NUMBERS/📚ALTERED/

#1-NIST Errors.com Welcome! We’re glad that you’ve chosen to visit NIST Errors.com. The purpose of this website is two-fold:     1.  If you are seeking a place to expose NIST fraud, waste and abuse, particularly in regards to NIST’s World Trade Center reports on Buildings 1, 2, or 7, you’ve come to the right place.     2.  If you are a NIST employee or member of the general public, this site provides information on the scientific errors that were made in NIST’s Final Report on the Collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 released in November 2008.   Information on Whistleblowing On July 8, 2016, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed S.Res.522 designating July 30, 2016 as National Whistleblower Appreciation Day. The resolution encourages all federal agencies to inform “employees, contractors working on behalf of United States taxpayers, and members of the public about the legal rights of citizens of the United States to ‘blow the whistle’ by honest and good faith reporting of misconduct, fraud, misdemeanors, or other crimes to the appropriate authorities.” The resolution also acknowledges the contributions whistleblowers have made, at their own personal risk, “combating waste, fraud, abuse.” The designation of July 30th was to commemorate legislation passed by the Continental Congress on that date in 1778, which stated that government employees have a duty to report misconduct, fraud and other crimes in government to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner. The official report on this building’s collapse by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been challenged by many reputable and credentialed technical professionals. The NIST analysis has not undergone the rigors of scientific peer review – the typical pathway for validating significant scientific theories. Chris Sarns’ research appears in Dr. David Ray Griffin’s book titled "The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7." The studies below represent years of work by Chris in unraveling some of the most glaring inconsistencies and outright frauds in the NIST report on World Trade Center 7. He demonstrates that the NIST’s theory of the fire-induced collapse of Building 7 is faulty and misleading. The destruction of this skyscraper on September 11 was truly unprecedented in the history of high-rise buildings. More than 1,900 architects and engineers at AE911Truth are demanding a new investigation. Chris has also been deeply involved in the work of AE911Truth, where he provides his expertise on WTC 7. During the next five months, we will be presenting five articles written by Chris Sarns that address the alleged fire-induced collapse of World Trade Center 7 at 5:20 PM on September 11, 2001. Quotes from the NIST WTC 7 reports are shown in "brown" 1. BURNED-OUT FIRE The timing of the fire on floor 12 exposes NIST's false claim that fire led to the collapse.   The images shown below on the left are Sarns' approximations using the photographs as a guide of where and at what times the fire existed on floor 12. On the right is the NIST ANSYS computer model for the same times. "Note that only window glass breaking times were prescribed in the fire model. The observed fire activity gleaned from the photographs and video were not a model input"  NCSTAR 1-9 Vol.2 p. 378 [pdf p. 40] NIST will not release the input data because doing so might "jeopardize public safety"

Hearing into air quality at Ground Zero

Close up graphic display used by panel 5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jerrold Nadler, U-S Congressman (Democrat - New York - he represents the area surrounding ground zero): "Unfortunately the people in Lower Manhattan still do not know whether or not it is safe to live and work in the area. Although the first responders and the emergency personnel did excellent work, the E-P-A, the Environmental Protection Agency, has failed in its mission to, quote 'protect human health and to safeguard the national environment', unquote, by not exercising its full authority to test and clean indoor spaces where people live and work. As such the E-P-A has created what can only become a full-scale crisis of public confidence." 6. Wide shot Clinton and Lieberman, pan to panel 7. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jane M. Kenny, Administrator, U-S Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2: "There was, you know, a lot of confusion. I think people, understandably, were confused about what exactly was safe and not. I think there is a lot of uncertainty - we never had dealt with this kind of issue before. Don't forget there were seven stories of debris that people were working through at that particular time right after this, this event. And, you know, I think that we just have to, you know, remember going forward, you know, who the enemy is. The people in public service were doing, basically, trying to do the best that they could to make the kinds of determinations to protect the public health." 8. Wide shot press briefing by Lieberman and Clinton 9. SOUNDBITE: (English): Hillary Rodham Clinton, U-S Senator (Democrat- New York) : "We have no evidence that suggests any health hazard. Now, that is a caveated statement, because we don't have the information yet available that will better track what was in the air that day and what long-term potential impact that might lead to." 10. Cutaway cameramen 11. SOUNDBITE: (English) Joseph Lieberman, U-S Senator (Democratic - Connecticut) "The President's budget recommends increases in funding for homeland security but if you're not concerned about environmental security and public health and don't invest the funds in those governmental agencies as well then the homeland security you're providing - well, as important as it is, is short-term, and incomplete." Democrat Jerrold Nadler made the allegations at a Senate subcommittee hearing on Clean air, Wetlands and Climate Change quality in New York. He said that the Environmental Protection Agency had undermined public confidence by assuring New York residents that the air was safe to breathe after the September 11th attacks. Nadler claimed that E-P-A administrator, Christie Whitman, was wrong to declare that the air was safe to breathe and the water safe to drink on September 18th. Power and Distorted Relationships: The Psychology of the “Loyal Slave” and “Mammy” (Lecture)

01:37:31
In the final days of the America Civil War, previously isolated slave populations found the opportunity to run toward Union ships or infantry encampments. Likewise, as federal forces moved onto these plantations and publicly read the Emancipation Proclamation, newly freed slaves migrated in great numbers to the nearest city where the Freedman’s Bureau worked to reunite scattered families and provide various forms of social or economic support. Southern planters watched their slaves leave with dismay, having lived under the delusion that their “human property” saw them as patriarchs who provided daily protection from birth to death. Their “defections” stripped away any pretense of the master-slave relationship. Join Ranger Troy Harman and explore the shattered notions of the “loyal slave” and “Mammy” following the end of the war and the transformation of southern society.

The role of leadership in software development

01:32:05
Google Tech Talks May 6, 2008 ABSTRACT When you look around, there are a lot of leaders recommended for software development. We have the functional manager and the project manager, the scrum master and the black belt, the product owner and the customer-on-site, the technical leader and the architect, the product manager and the chief engineer. Clearly that's too many leaders. So how many leaders should there be, what should they do, what shouldn't they do, and what skills do they need? This will be a presentation and discussion of leadership roles in software development -- what works, what doesn't and why. Speaker: Mary Poppendieck Mary Poppendieck started her career as a process control programmer, moved on to manage the IT department of a manufacturing plant, and then ended up in product development, where she was both a product champion and department manager. Mary considered retirement 1998, but instead found herself managing a government software project where she first encountered the word "waterfall." When Mary compared her experience in successful software and product development to the prevailing opinions about how to manage software projects, she decided the time had come for a new paradigm. She wrote the award-winning book Lean Software Development: An Agile Toolkit in 2003 to explain how the lean principles from manufacturing offer a better approach to software development. Over the past six years, Mary has found retirement elusive as she lectures and teaches classes with her husband Tom. Based on their on-going learning, they wrote a second book, Implementing Lean Software Development: From Concept to Cash in 2006. A popular writer and speaker, Mary continues to bring fresh perspectives to the world of software development. Speaker: Tom Poppendieck Tom Poppendieck has 25 years of experience in computing including eight years of work with object technology. His modeling and mentoring skills are rooted in his experience as a physics professor. His early work was in IT infrastructure, product development, and manufacturing support, and evolved to consulting project assignments in healthcare, logistics, mortgage banking, and travel services. Tom led the development of a world-class product data management practice for a major commercial avionics manufacturer that reduced design to production transition efforts from 6 months to 6 weeks. He also led the technical architecture team for very large national and international Baan and SAP implementations. Tom Poppendieck is an enterprise analyst and architect, and an agile process mentor. He focuses on identifying real business value and enabling product teams to realize that value. Tom specializes in understanding customer processes and in effective collaboration of customer, development and support specialists to maximize development efficiency, system flexibility, and business value. Tom is co-author of the book Lean Software Development: An Agile Toolkit, published in 2003, and its sequel, Implementing Lean Software Development: From Concept to Cash, published in 2006.

Who are Tolkien's Wizards? The Lore of the Istari from Lord of the Rings

01:13:38
Today we look at the lore and background stories of the Wizards from lord of the Rings. Gandalf, Saruman, Radagast and the mysterious Blue Wizards. They are the 5 Istari, sent on a secret mission to aid the people of Middle-earth, but it's difficult for them to help, when they start with conflicts among themselves. I try to answer many questions, like how did Saruman get Isengard, what happens to Gandalf after Moria and how does he become Gandalf the White, but also Radagast's involvement in the events the led to the War of the Ring. I also talk a lot about the White Council and a bit about Galadriel and Círdan. After a general part, I look at each Istari separately, so I repeat my self a bit in each section, but there is also something new in each section. #LotR #Lore #explained Timestamps: Introduction: 0:00 min The Istari General 0:27 min The Blue Wizards 12:13 min Radagast the Brown 16:48 min Saruman the White 23:05 min Gandalf the Grey 46:22 min Gandalf the White 1:09:25 hour ##### Mistakes ##### - In the video I said the Two Towers represent Orthanc and Barad-dûr. this is mainly my own interpretation of it. I forgot that, Tolkien made this "dust jacket": http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/File:J.R.R._Tolkien_-_The_Two_Towers.jpg It shows Orthanc and Minas Morgol (once Minas Ithil = Tower of the Moon). But the issue is more complicated. Tolkien never intended to split the books, which was a publisher decision. He comments on this in Letter 143: I am not at all happy about the title 'the Two Towers'. It must if there is any real reference in it to Vol II refer to Orthanc and the Tower of Cirith Ungol. But since there is so much made of the basic opposition of the Dark Tower and Minas Tirith, that seems very misleading. There is, of course, actually no real connecting link between Books III and IV, when cut off and presented separately as a volume. (thanks to John Jones) - The singular of Istari (plural) is Istar. For some reason I didn't notice and use pretty much always Istari, even when the correct form would be Istar. E.g. it should be: "He was the second Istar [...]" (thanks to John Jones) Lore and History of the Elves and Cirdan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgcnVsMAnMo #### Sources #### Books: Lord of The Rings (1954-1955) by J. Mind the Matrix FULL FILM EN/NL/ES/DE/FR/PT

02:13:28
DISCLAIMER: This film offers OPINIONS and FACTS. In the case of people’s personal experiences shared in this documentary, it is of the utmost importance that you DO NOT accept and believe everything you hear and see without doing your own research and feeling what your own truth is, as seen through your own personal filters. This film is to invite people to wake up and find the truth how they see it. Everyone’s experience is different and it is within the crossovers that we find a commonly accepted reality. The makers of this film also do not encourage the viewer to drink Ayahuasca. This film is not about this medicine plant. It is only mentioned in the beginning of this film whereby the narrator shares an experience. However the rest of the film does not focus on this plant. Attending an Ayahuasca ceremony is not for everyone and should be very carefully considered. Since the release of this film, the filmmaker believes humanity’s collective consciousness has expanded considerably to make a significant collective change in the matrix template. This film is subtitled in: English/Nederlands/Deutsch/Espanol/Francais Our external reality is an expression of what we have collectively created together and we consider this to be REALITY. Reality in this case means ‘OUR THOUGHTS REALISED’. So, yes, it is a form of reality indeed. However, a lot of the realities we have created are not in harmony with our true being and planet earth. Western society is a slash and burn reality where what we take is not given back. This will eventually result in the exhaustion of resources of our planet. The way we treat planet Earth is a result of how we treat ourselves and thus others. We tend to think in a linear way and not in a cyclical way where what goes out comes back in and vise versa: A dance between our internal eternal spirit and the physical external realm. It is like we have become so mesmerized that we believe that the external world is all there is. We hang on to it for dear life and since we know our resources are finite, fear and greed put us into a constant survival mode. In the mean time our true being is not integrated as much as is healthy for our wellbeing. It is like we walk around like zombies; cleverly reflected by the large amount of zombie movies that have come out over the past 10 years. The film ‘Mind the Matrix’ looks at all this and with the help of various experts, hands the viewer tools on how to get back to our natural state of inner and outer harmony. This is where global change will start. With ourselves. Once we have rediscovered the nature of who we really are, this will automatically be reflected outwards. Our ‘reality’ will then be adjusted all by itself. By remaining focused outwards, we as humans may just get exhausted of trying for change and not seeing any. Like Mahatma Gandhi said ‘Be the change that you want in the world’. Please watch the movie and share it with as many people as you feel to. If you speak a foreign language and you would like it to be available in your country, please contact mindthematrix.com to suggest volunteers who can translate the English version. Enjoy watching. Thank you to our translators Tim Wiechers, Mauricio Taipe, Susanne Aloe and Guillaume Lebreton, Daniel Carvalho

Stephen Kinzer ─ The True Flag: Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and the Birth of American Empire

01:21:19
Skip ahead to main speaker at 4:51 Stephen Kinzer presents his new book, The True Flag: Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and the Birth of American Empire. How should the United States act in the world? Americans cannot decide. Sometimes we burn with righteous anger, launching foreign wars and deposing governments. Then we retreat―until the cycle begins again. No matter how often we debate this question, none of what we say is original. Every argument is a pale shadow of the first and greatest debate, which erupted more than a century ago. Its themes resurface every time Americans argue whether to intervene in a foreign country. Revealing a piece of forgotten history, Stephen Kinzer transports us to the dawn of the twentieth century, when the United States first found itself with the chance to dominate faraway lands. That prospect thrilled some Americans. It horrified others. Their debate gripped the nation. The country’s best-known political and intellectual leaders took sides. Theodore Roosevelt, Henry Cabot Lodge, and William Randolph Hearst pushed for imperial expansion; Mark Twain, Booker T. Washington, and Andrew Carnegie preached restraint. Only once before―in the period when the United States was founded―have so many brilliant Americans so eloquently debated a question so fraught with meaning for all humanity. All Americans, regardless of political perspective, can take inspiration from the titans who faced off in this epic confrontation. Their words are amazingly current. Every argument over America’s role in the world grows from this one. It all starts here. Introduction by Richard M. Locke, Brown University Provost.
