Now I'm in NorCal, retired captain and until now unaware of the avocado benefits... and.. avocado trees don't do so well in the Lake Co. climate... (& wildfire smoke)... Capt JT

I always eat a few of them every week. What makes me unhappy, very frequently they look great from outside , skin, shape etc but rotten inside . Sometimes 3 of 4 must be binned. Great taste with Himalayan or sea salt and fresh lemon juice.
What's crazy is i just left the Domincan republic, and they have these like on every street corner being sold. They are sold there for what is like a quarter here. So for little of nothing. Even in some back yards of the people who live there, you'll find many avacado trees. Mostly Everyone there eats this fruit daily, with their meals. And i noticed the people have beautiful skin complexion, are very energetic, and very social. Not to mention its other benefits. But even the older people, they were energized like a battery, considering their age. I think diet plays a big part in that. Mainly the high levels of potassium, and other vitamins in this fruit. So to me its like one big vitamin.

Even though avocados are very healthy.. I don't like the taste.. To me it's like eating a wet newspaper.. Also (tasteless..) but once in a while I still eat it.. In the hope that I will like it in time.. Especially because of the health benefits..

Nothing like my avocado key lime or chocolate mousse pie! And my avocado toast is unreal. Fresh-baked bread and habanero tajin put it over the top. Guac blended smooth is great for dressing a plate. Seeds good too.

Yes, avocados are very healthy, but I think some of these claims are exaggerated. Haas avocados are not cheap, mostly because they have no competition in North America . One small avocado - about the size of a lemon - can cost you about $1 us dollar or more. Too bad avocados from South America are not easily found in California.
I been eating em almost everyday now not only because I'm a vegan (2yrs now) but some of the guys that I know who are mma fighters got me doing that and cbd oils..

Are there downsides to avocados? Like the unpractical agricultural practices, specifically the insane amount of water it takes to grow avocadoes v.s. say ANYTHING else in the vegetable world? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
