Autism is more frequently diagnosed in boys than girls but this is true for all developmental disorders. There seems to be a higher incidence or a higher ratio of boys as is to girls. With autism the data is three to five boys get diagnosed to one girl. However, when a girl is involved, she is more impaired and that is of concern but it's just something that we know we don't understand why this happens but there seems to be a difference in the biochemistry and in the genetic makeup to that degree that the male testosterone system is more vulnerable in that sense.
So we have more developmental disabilities and definitely an increase in the diagnosis of autism as we do often increased speech delivery for example in a boy versus a girl and it's interesting that even in the unit NICU, when you have a male infant or a female infant get sick, the survival chances of the female infant is better that the male infant. So what is it about the chemistry of the makeup that is different between boys and girls? A lot of research is out there but as prevalence more boys are involved with autism than girls and more boys get impacted with autism than girls.
First of all, thank you for being considerate! In general, there are a ton of good organizations trying to help people with autism disorders (except for Autism Speaks, who are the exact opposite of that). They always need help.
You can even start with smaller steps. If you know any autistic people and they're non-mute, you can explicitly ask for things to avoid. Most people on the spectrum have massive problems with a certain sound/smell/touch, which, if avoided, can help the person feel more safe. (for me that's the sound of vacuuming and touching certain kinds of wood, like the wood part of poptarts, especially when freezing cold),
The most important part though - treat them with respect. I know that that's hard, and sometimes I fail to take other people on the spectrum seriously, but they are just other human beings giving their best.
No, but they are a variable in the developmental disorder. We live in a toxic world. We are fed poison then given poison to counter that poison. Than given more to hide the side effects of the prior given.
You said nothing here. There was little or no information to use regarding females with autism.
Being one, I'd rather like some answers...
They don't NOTICE it in girls unless it's extreme, they don't look for it in girls.
As far as my experience goes - living with autism is like being born with PTSD. Born with it and having no idea what it is, small wonder youngsters melt down, resort to stimming behaviors to control their input.
For those who have made rude comments, pointed fingers at others in derision, you have NO IDEA what you are doing, you are not being clever, you are being cruel.
The reason autism is diagnosed more often in males than in females is because autism is more common in males than in females--- it is not an issue of males acquiring more medical evaluations. As the video noted, male chemistry is involved.
Stony2103 Autism is far more than just being quiet and shy. Autism is far more common in boys than girls, just like almost every other single mentally developmental problem is. It's a harsh reality, but far more boys have developmental problems than girls do, like ADHD and mental retardation.
That is a possibility, but not necessarily the whole truth. According to social stigmas, being "quiet" and "shy" is more acceptable/recently found in girls than in boys, so recognizing someone stand out is easier in boys.
Yo mate, do you know the differences of "illnesses" and "disorders"? Ilnesses are cureable, disorders aren't. That's why you can get rid of a cold, but not of autism spectrum disorders. There is no possible cure and there is scientifically said no way to expect a cure for an uncurable state (not saying that is good or bad, just the facts)
Ragmathgul Honestly, I believe that a cure should be developed but it should be up to the parents and or the individual to decide if they want to accept the cure. Some people are so mildly affected that they might not need it. However, it could be effective for people who struggle with typical, daily functions. There's no easy answer.
Anmol Thapa / a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by great difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts
Well that was pretty uninformative. Could’ve just put that in the title. Could’ve been a one second video with a bullet point that said boys are more susceptible to autism then girls. There. You didn’t even give statistics for heaven sake’s. How many boys out of 100 statistically are autistic versus how many girls out of 100 or make up whatever you number you want but this was a total waste of YouTube space
Owned buildings at another site may be used as alternate workspace if a building cannot be occupied. This depends upon the location of the building and whether the building would be affected by the same hazard that prevented use of the primary building. The alternate facility may be a viable business recovery strategy if the building can be configured with the required equipment or existing equipment can be configured to need business requirements.
Systems and Equipment.
Evaluate these systems to determine whether they meet the needs of the program. Identify and plan to overcome emergency communication system limitations such as weak radio or cellular service or areas where a warning system cannot be heard. Upgrading this critically important system may be required. Verify that these systems are in reliable working condition.
If fuel, battery backup power or batteries are required, make sure the system can run for the required time and chargers are available. Document how to operate these systems and mark the locations of controls. Make sure the information is available during an emergency. Many of these systems also require periodic inspection, testing and maintenance in accordance with national codes and standards. Train staff so a knowledgeable person is able to operate systems and equipment.
Materials and Supplies.
Be sure to compile a list of available resources using the Emergency Response Resource Requirements and Business Continuity Resource Requirements worksheets as a guide.
Preparing for an emergency, responding to an emergency, executing business recovery strategies and other activities require resources that come from outside the business. If there were a fire in the building, you would call the fire department. Contractors and vendors may be needed to prepare a facility for a forecast storm or to help repair and restore a building, systems or equipment following an incident.
The following external resources should be identified within plan documents. Include contact information to reach them during an emergency and any additional instructions within the preparedness plan.
Public Emergency Services.
