What exactly is a stock? Get my latest course : Save time learning to trade at: http://tradersfly.com -If you purchase stock in Google, you own a small fraction of Google. -When you purchase stock, you're buying a piece of the company. -People buy stock in order to invest -Companies sell stock in order to gain revenue (money to build/grow the company) Example -A person starts a candy cane company, invests a lot of money, and the company is worth $100,000 -In order for this company to grow larger, it needs more equipment and employees -The company needs more money to get the equipment and employees -Instead of going to a bank to borrow the money, stock comes into play -The candy cane company sells stock (or pieces of the company) -Other people invest in the company and in turn, own part of the company -The investors are looking for a financial gain -If the company doubles its revenue, the investors also double their money (i.e. if one person invested $30,000 that initial investment is now worth $60,000) -The investors benefit as the company grows ★ SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE: ★ http://bit.ly/addtradersfly ★ ABOUT TRADERSFLY ★ TradersFly is a place where I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience about the stock market, trading, and investing. I’m confused. How can you own a part of a company? I thought you either own the company or you don’t. If you own a part of the company, does that mean some of the profit the company makes goes to you?

This was soooo easy to understand. All these years I just could not grasp the idea of what a stock was and I’m freaking 24. So thank you!!!

Would you trade manually or would you use trading bots, I found some very unique features with *FIRST MILLION ROAD* while trading as a real user. It’s one of the latest trading signal services that can send signals of business which are highlighted by the software randomly. The main point of loving this system should be that *FIRST MILLION ROAD* system does not require any major broker that adds to the lack of trustworthy of this tool. ?

i dont think thats right.... so your saying that the investors double their money the second they invest it in that scenario? so if they decide to pull their money out immediately the company looses all their money?
Shamster (10 months ago)
Can I ask a question? So let's say if you're an investor and you invest in stocks... will the money you invested return to you? Will you get profit from it? (Sorry I don't have enough knowledge about business stuff)

If the investors invested 100,000 and your company is currently worth 100,000, after they invest wouldn't the company be worth 200,000? And your investors wouldn't be making double their investment but rather break even? Sorry just a few questions.. if anyone can explain that would be great.
Feigned (1 year ago)
Sasha Evdakov sorry worded it wrong I meant in your example of investing. If you invested 100,000 into a company and sold when your stock doubled in value wouldn't you only be making back 100,000?
Feigned (1 year ago)
Oh and one more thought I had... Let's say the company is worth 200,000 after investors invested but raised to 300,000 wouldn't it still mean that investors break even because they are earning back what they put in?
Ghaly Wedinly (1 year ago)

So you originally owned $100k in your company. You sold $90k as shares to investors. Does that mean you, as the business owner just own 10% of the company now? 😵

I'm unable to catch this. like if i made 100,000 investment in my company, and have 100,000 from investors as well, if the company grew to 200,000 then i still owe 100,000 to the bank, how do i make money from this as all of it goes to the investors?

OK so the number of stocks are determined at the value of the company? correct? I'm still a bit unsure. So if the company is valued at $100,000 Then would that mean there are 100,000 shares? if so then how do they value or price each share?

Ej Ortega (2 years ago)
so if my stock share doubles. i will need to sell it to make money right. but who would want to buy a 20,000$ share. is it easy to sell the share
Ej Ortega (2 years ago)
so if my stock share doubles. i will need to sell it to make money right. but who would want to buy a 20,000$ share. is it easy to sell the share
Yes. For example, if you buy 10,000 shares of a $2 stock then your investment in the company is $20,000. You can then sell 100 shares, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, etc. Pretty much as many as you want whether the $2 stock increases or decreases in value.

wait so if u invested 30,000 and it increased to 60,000 do you get the 60,000 back? or you have to invest 60,000 again?
Titan (2 years ago)
+Sour Cherrys You can take your money whenever you want to, but you never know, your investment may increase highly or even decrease
M1kePanwawa (2 years ago)
Can you take your invested money before it goes down?
Smokaa (2 years ago)
exactly its a lot like gambling and u have to have a plan, first of all to get to 60 000 you need to double your money meaning you need a 100% gain ,lets say you invested in nitendo recently ,they went up 25% because of pokemon go ,now you need 75% to get to double your money, lets say they dont update pokemon go ,evryone is gonna loose interest in it and soon itl die off because of the issues with the servers so you will have some bad days to go through you may go down 15% and ull be left with 10% gain ,if you continue you may go down more than 10% thats when ull begin loosing you original investment !! hope this help
Titan (2 years ago)
+Yasmine J Yeah, buying stocks is sort of like gambling, theres chances of losing and gaining.
Yasmine Johnson (2 years ago)
+Titan but isn't it possible that if you wait to sell it it can lose profit by then? Instead of gain

What exactly are you owning when you own a piece of a company? If a company is worth 100,000 dollars what exactly is that money rooted in? For example if I own a restaurant that is work 100,000 what exactly is in that restaurant that gives me 100,000 dollars? The chairs the food?
Aaron Brutus (2 years ago)
What is the difference between the concrete value of the business and cap and enterprise value?
aznf0rl1fe (2 years ago)
+Aaron Brutus There's market capitalization and enterprise value. What many of these people forget to mention is the difference between those.
Ransom Locke (2 years ago)
the stock price has nothing to with company worth
